T550 12" Kick on Roland TD-8

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 12" Kick when used with the Roland TD-8.

Yes — the T550 12" Kick works as a full kick on the Roland TD-8: single zone.

Trigger

Wiring: 1× TS or TRS → KICK input (1/4" TRS jack)

Single-zone kick trigger. Only the head zone is active.

Connect a 1/4" TS or TRS cable from the kick pad to the KICK input on the rear panel.

Press [SETUP], then [F1 (TRIG)] — the "TRIGGER BANK" screen appears.
Navigate to the KICK input.
Set the trigger type to KD7 (for KD-5 / KD-7), K 8 (for KD-80), or K12 (for KD-120) depending on your kick pad.

Single-zone operation — only the head zone is active.
A TS cable is sufficient for single-zone kick pads; TRS also works (ring is unused).
