T550 12" Kick on Roland TD-30

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 12" Kick when used with the Roland TD-30.

Yes — the T550 12" Kick works as a full kick on the Roland TD-30: single zone.

Trigger

Wiring: 1× TS or TRS → KICK input (1/4" TRS jack)

Single-zone kick trigger. Only the head zone is active.

Connect a 1/4" TS or TRS cable from the kick pad to the KICK input on the rear panel.

Press the [TRIGGER] button.
Press the [F1] (BANK) button to open the TRIGGER BANK screen.
Select the KICK input (strike the pad or use the TRIG SELECT buttons).
Use the [-] [+] buttons or the dial to set the trigger type to KD-120 or KD-140.
For finer control, press [F2] (SENS) and adjust Sensitivity on the TRIGGER SENSITIVITY screen.

Single-zone operation — only the head zone is active.
A TS cable is sufficient for single-zone kick pads; TRS also works (ring is unused).
