T550 12" Kick on Alesis Surge

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 12" Kick when used with the Alesis Surge.

Yes — the T550 12" Kick works as a full kick on the Alesis Surge: single zone.

Trigger

Wiring: 1× TS or TRS → Kick connector on the cable snake

Single-zone kick trigger via the cable snake. Only the head zone is active.

Connect a 1/4" TS or TRS cable from the kick pad to the Kick connector on the cable snake.

Hit the kick pad, or press its Kick Pad Select button, to select it.
Press Utility, then press Page/Select until SEN (Pad sensitivity) appears; use the < and > buttons to set it.
Press Page/Select to THR (Pad threshold) and set it with < / >.
Press Page/Select to CUR (Pad velocity curve) to pick the dynamic response.
Press Save to keep the settings.

Single-zone operation — only the head zone is active.
A TS cable is sufficient for single-zone kick pads; TRS also works (ring is unused).
