14" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals on Donner DED-300X

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 14" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals when used with the Donner DED-300X.

Setup — 14" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals on Donner DED-300X

Use as switch hi-hat

The 14" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals works on the Donner DED-300X as a switch hi-hat: open/closed only.

Continuous Open Closed

Wiring: 1× TRS (pad) → HI-HAT lead on the signal-connection harness + 1× TRS (controller) → the hi-hat-control lead on the harness

The harness carries a discrete hi-hat-control lead, so the Lemon controller connects. This module's hi-hat channel follows the Alesis/Medeli convention, which reads a Roland-convention controller as open/closed. The pad channel is single-zone.

Cable routing

  1. Connect the Lemon hi-hat pad to the HI-HAT lead on the module's signal-connection harness.
  2. Connect the hi-hat controller to the hi-hat-control lead on the harness with a ¼″ TRS cable.

Module settings

  1. MENU > SENSITIVITY > select HH > set SEN (drum sensitivity, 01-06), THREH. (trigger threshold, 01-32), XTALK (crosstalk threshold, 01-32), RETR. (repeat trigger, 01-32), and VOL (volume, 00-127).
  2. Press SAVE to store the settings to the current PRESET.
14" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals also fits 70 other drum modules — see setup
