14" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals on Donner DED-500
Setup — 14" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals on Donner DED-500
Use with the kit's pedal controllerThe 14" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals works on the Donner DED-500 as a continuous hi-hat driven by the kit's own pedal controller: open, half-open and closed positions.

Wiring: 1× TRS → HI-HAT lead on the Data In (DB25) harness; keep the kit's own control pedal — the module's only trigger jacks are TOM4 and CRASH2, so there is no hi-hat-control input to take over
The DED-500 reads full pedal position from its own control pedal — a three-point calibration (Open > HOpen > NClose) captures the range (pp.19–20), and a Type: Stand/Pedal setting matches the controller hardware. The hi-hat signal runs over the Data In (DB25) harness only (p.03, p.05); there is no 1/4" jack for the Lemon controller.
Cable routing
- Connect the Lemon hi-hat pad to the HI-HAT lead on the module's DB25 signal-connection harness.
- Keep the kit's own control pedal in place — it provides the pedal position. The module's jack panel carries only TOM4, CRASH2 and the DB25 Data In, so there is no hi-hat-control input on the module itself.
Module settings
- Upon the setting interface, select TRIG and press [ENTER] to enter the trigger interface, then use the [◀]/[▶] buttons to select the Hi-Hat pad.
- Adjust Sensitivity, Threshold, and Rim Gain; adjust Pedal HH Sens for closed hi-hat and foot-splash response.
- UTIL > HH sets the pedal type (Type: Stand/Pedal — Stand for a hi-hat stand, Pedal for a common pedal; this one saves itself) and captures the three-point pedal calibration — press the pedal to Open, then HOpen, then NClose (they must stay in that order, Open > HOpen > NClose), then press [SAVE] to store them (p.18; pp.19–20).
