Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 14" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals when used with the Yamaha DTX-PRO.

The 14" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals works on the Yamaha DTX-PRO as a switch hi-hat: open/closed only.

Continuous Open Closed

Wiring: 1× TRS pad → [HI-HAT] jack + 1× TRS (controller) → [CONTROL] jack (1/4" TRS jacks)

This module reads the Lemon hi-hat controller as open/closed.

Press the [MENU] button, select Trigger, then Pad Type, and strike the hi-hat so its trigger input is selected (p.9).
Set PadType to RHH135 — the HH entry for a two-piece hi-hat that brings its own controller to the [CONTROL] jack (Reference Manual p.37), and the same step Yamaha gives for fitting a two-piece hi-hat in place of the stock pad (Owner's Manual p.58).
Set Gain (1–127) and Sensitivity (1–13) on the same page so the hi-hat registers cleanly open and closed (p.38).

The Lemon hi-hat controller triggers open and closed hi-hat on this module — no half-open or continuous articulation.
If closed hi-hat sounds are hard to get, lower FootClosePos under MENU/Utility/Pad (Reference Manual p.45).
