14" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals on Donner DED-300 Pro

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 14" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals when used with the Donner DED-300 Pro.

Setup — 14" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals on Donner DED-300 Pro

Use with the kit's pedal controller

The 14" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals works on the Donner DED-300 Pro as a continuous hi-hat driven by the kit's own pedal controller: open, half-open and closed positions.

Continuous Open Closed

Wiring: 1× TRS → Hi-hat plug on the trigger snake; keep the stock control box on the hi-hat stand (Hi-hat Control plug)

The DED-300 Pro ships a 12" hi-hat on a real hi-hat stand with a stand-mounted control box that reads pedal position — open, half-open, and closed all trigger, with the half-open threshold adjustable via the Half HC ADJ utility. The pad channel is single-zone.

Cable routing

  1. Plug the snake's labeled Hi-hat connector into the Lemon hi-hat pad's 1/4" TRS jack.
  2. Keep the Donner control box mounted on the hi-hat stand and connected to the snake's Hi-hat Control plug — it provides the pedal position.

Module settings

  1. MENU > SENSITIVITY > select HH > PS, THR, XTALK, RETRIGER, VOLUME.
  2. MENU > UTILITY > Half HC ADJ adjusts the half-open/close pedal threshold (the manual heads this menu UTILITY on p.13 but lists the item under AMBIENCE on p.12).

Tips

  1. Hi-hat MIDI notes: open = 46, half-open = 23, closed = 42, pedal close = 44.
14" 2-Piece Electronic Hi-Hat Cymbals also fits 69 other drum modules — see setup
