9" Dual-Zone Splash on Roland TD-02

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 9" Dual-Zone Splash when used with the Roland TD-02.

Setup — 9" Dual-Zone Splash on Roland TD-02

Works

Yes — the 9" Dual-Zone Splash works as a full 2-zone crash on the Roland TD-02: bow + edge.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → CRASH connector on the DB-25 cable snake

Dual-zone crash triggering: bow (tip) and edge (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge. The TD-02 supports Roland CY-series 2-zone cymbals.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal to the CRASH connector on the DB-25 cable snake.

Module settings

  1. Press the [MENU] button, use the [▲] [▼] buttons to select "PAD", and press the [ENTER] button.
  2. Strike the cymbal to select its input (or hold [ENTER] and press the [▲] [▼] buttons).
  3. Use the [▲] [▼] buttons to select "Type" and the [-] [+] buttons to set the cymbal PAD type to a CY value from the PAD Type list such as "CY12C" or "CY8".
  4. Select "Sens" and "Threshold" and adjust each with the [-] [+] buttons if needed.
  5. Press the [DRUM KIT] button to return to the DRUM KIT screen.

Tips

  1. Bow and edge zones respond independently.
  2. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge.
9" Dual-Zone Splash also fits 73 other drum modules — see setup
