9" Dual-Zone Splash on Donner DED-500P

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 9" Dual-Zone Splash when used with the Donner DED-500P.

Setup — 9" Dual-Zone Splash on Donner DED-500P

Works

Yes — the 9" Dual-Zone Splash works as a full 2-zone crash on the Donner DED-500P: bow + edge.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → CRASH1 lead on the DB25 harness, or the discrete CRASH2 expansion jack

Same specifications as the DED-500. Dual-zone cymbal triggering supported on the Crash inputs.

Cable routing

  1. Connect the cymbal to the CRASH1 lead on the module's DB25 signal-connection harness using a standard 1/4" TRS cable, or to the discrete CRASH2 1/4" jack on the module's jack panel.
  2. The DED-500P's main pads all route through the supplied signal-connection harness (multi-pin DB25 connector into the module's "Data In" port); only the TOM4 and CRASH2 expansion inputs are individual 1/4" jacks — same trigger architecture as the DED-500.

Module settings

  1. Upon the setting interface, select TRIG and press [ENTER] to enter the trigger interface, then use the [◀]/[▶] buttons to select the Crash pad.
  2. Adjust Sensibility, Threshold, Curve, and Rim Gain (edge sensitivity); raise AntiCross if a neighboring pad falsely triggers.

Tips

  1. Dual-zone bow and edge triggering is supported on crash inputs.
9" Dual-Zone Splash also fits 73 other drum modules — see setup
