9" Dual-Zone Splash on Roland V51
Setup — 9" Dual-Zone Splash on Roland V51
WorksYes — the 9" Dual-Zone Splash works as a full 2-zone crash on the Roland V51: bow + edge.
Bow
Edge
Wiring: 1× TRS → CRASH1 connector on the DB-25 cable snake, or CRASH2 / AUX1/TOM4 / AUX2 / AUX3 direct jack on the rear panel
Dual-zone crash triggering: bow (tip) and edge (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge. The V-51 supports Roland CY-series 2-zone cymbals.
Cable routing
- Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal to the CRASH1 connector on the DB-25 cable snake.
- For additional cymbals, connect to the CRASH2, AUX1/TOM4, AUX2, or AUX3 input on the rear panel.
Module settings
- Press the [SETUP] button.
- Use the cursor buttons to select "TRIGGER", then press [ENTER].
- Press the [F1] (BANK) button to open the TRIGGER - BANK screen.
- Select the CRASH1, CRASH2, or AUX input (strike the pad or use the cursor buttons).
- Use the [-] [+] buttons or the dial to set the trigger type to the model that most closely matches your connected pad (the full trigger-type list is in the module's Data List).
- For finer control, press [F3] (BASIC) and adjust the pad's Sensitivity.
Tips
- Bow and edge zones respond independently.
- Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge.
- The DIGITAL TRIGGER IN (USB) jacks are for Roland digital pads only.
