Works

Yes — the 9" Dual-Zone Splash works as a full 2-zone crash on the Alesis DM10: bow + edge.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → the 7 CRASH input

12 individual ¼″ TRS jacks on the rear panel (no cable snake). Set InputType to SWITCH for Lemon cymbals — their edge zone presents a switch-type output, which is what this setting expects.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal to the input labelled 7 CRASH on the rear panel (p. 6).

Module settings

  1. Press EXT TRIG to enter the Ext. Trig Menu, then press NOTE CHASE and strike the cymbal to select its input.
  2. On the INP page, set Sensitvty (00-99) so your hardest bow strike drives the level meter close to maximum without clipping.
  3. Set the InputType to SWITCH. The manual (p.24) defines SWITCH as the mode for "a drum pad with a rim switch, a cymbal with an edge switch, or a footswitch" — a Lemon crash's edge presents a switch-type output.
  4. Press TRIG (F2) and set Threshold (00-99) on that page — at lower settings very light strikes produce a sound, at higher settings the pad must be struck harder.
  5. Press STORE, then YES (F1), to keep the settings — Ext. Trig changes return to their defaults when you power the module off.

Tips

  1. The DM10's rear panel is numbered: 7 CRASH, 8 RIDE1, 9 RIDE2/PERC1, 10 PERC2, 11 PERC3, 12 PERC4.
  2. A second cymbal can go on a free PERC input (10–12), though the manual documents no zone behaviour for those inputs — treat the second crash as bow-only unless you confirm otherwise on the module.
  3. Switch mode is required for the edge zone to function correctly.
