9" Dual-Zone Splash on Roland TD-25

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 9" Dual-Zone Splash when used with the Roland TD-25.

Setup — 9" Dual-Zone Splash on Roland TD-25

Works

Yes — the 9" Dual-Zone Splash works as a full 2-zone crash on the Roland TD-25: bow + edge.

Bow Edge

Wiring: CRASH1 connector on the DB-25 cable snake → cymbal, or 1× TRS → the TRIGGER IN (AUX, CRASH 2) jacks on the rear panel

Dual-zone crash triggering: bow (tip) and edge (ring) respond independently over the one lead. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge. The TD-25 supports Roland CY-series 2-zone cymbals.

Cable routing

  1. Plug the CRASH1 connector on the DB-25 cable snake into the cymbal.
  2. For additional cymbals, connect a ¼″ TRS cable to the TRIGGER IN (AUX, CRASH 2) jacks on the rear panel (p. 3) — stereo 1/4-inch phone type (p. 17).

Module settings

  1. In the KIT screen, press [F3] (MENU), then [F3] (SETUP) to open the SETUP screen.
  2. Select "Trigger Settings" to open the TRIGGER SETTINGS screen, then strike the cymbal to select it.
  3. Use the [INSTRUMENT] knob to set the Pad type to the model that matches your cymbal.
  4. Use the [F2]/[F3] buttons to select "Sensitivity" and turn the [INSTRUMENT] knob to adjust it.

Tips

  1. Bow and edge zones respond independently.
  2. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge.
  3. CRASH2 and AUX are direct jacks on the rear panel, not part of the cable snake.
9" Dual-Zone Splash also fits 76 other drum modules — see setup
