Use as 1-zone crash

Yes — the 9" Dual-Zone Splash works on the Yamaha DTX400K as a 1-zone crash: bow only.

Bow Edge

Wiring: N/A

All cymbal pads are single-zone. No multi-zone cymbal support.

Module settings

  1. Hold the [KIT] button and press the [SONG] button to enter Menu Mode.
  2. Press number button [5] to select the Trigger Settings group.
  3. Press number button [5] for the Gain parameter, strike the cymbal to select it, then set the gain (1-127) with the number buttons.
  4. Press number button [6] for the Minimum Level parameter, strike the cymbal, then set the minimum level (0-99 %).
  5. This input reads bow only — load a crash voice whose bow sample stands on its own.

Tips

  1. The DTX400K's pads connect through a nine-channel snake — nine discrete leads into nine discrete 3.5 mm mini jacks on the module (p.18, p.22).
  2. The CRASH input is mini mono (p.64) — one channel, so an edge zone has nothing to arrive on.
9" Dual-Zone Splash also fits 74 other drum modules — see setup
