9" Dual-Zone Splash on Roland TD-1

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 9" Dual-Zone Splash when used with the Roland TD-1.

Setup — 9" Dual-Zone Splash on Roland TD-1

Works

The 9" Dual-Zone Splash is fully supported on your Roland TD-1.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → CRASH connector on the DB-25 cable snake (the TD-1 also exposes a CR2 cymbal input — connect a second cymbal to CRASH2 if your cable snake includes one)

Dual-zone crash triggering: bow (tip) and edge (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge. The TD-1 supports two 2-zone cymbal inputs (CR1 and CR2).

Cable routing

  1. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal to the CRASH connector on the DB-25 cable snake.
  2. For a second cymbal, connect to the CRASH2 connector if your cable snake exposes it.

Module settings

  1. The TD-1 has limited menu settings for trigger configuration.
  2. Strike the cymbal to confirm it is detected.

Tips

  1. Bow and edge zones respond independently.
  2. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge.
9" Dual-Zone Splash also fits 64 other drum modules — see setup
