18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Roland TD-02
Setup — 18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Roland TD-02
WorksYes — the 18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works as a full 3-zone ride on the Roland TD-02: bow + bell + edge.
Bell
Bow
Edge
Wiring: RD (ride) + CR2 (crash 2) connectors on the dedicated connection cable → Ride 1 + Ride 2 — set CR2Usage to RDB
Full 3-zone ride (bow, bell, edge). The TD-02 reads the bow/edge output on its RD input and the bell on the CR2 input with CR2Usage set to RDB — the same CY-13R hookup the Lemon ride is already wired for. Assigning CR2 to the ride bell occupies the crash-2 input, so a second crash pad can't be connected at the same time.
Ride setup and troubleshooting guide ›Cable routing
- Plug the RD connector on the dedicated connection cable into the ride's Ride 1 output (bow/edge).
- Plug the CR2 connector on the dedicated connection cable into the ride's Ride 2 output (bell).
Module settings
- Press the [MENU] button, use the [▲] [▼] buttons to select "PAD", and press the [ENTER] button.
- Strike the ride to select the RD input, then use the [▲] [▼] buttons to select "Type" and the [-] [+] buttons to set the RD PAD type to "CY13R".
- Use the [▲] [▼] buttons to select "CR2Usage" and the [-] [+] buttons to set it to "RDB" so the CR2 connector is read as the RIDE BELL.
- Press the [DRUM KIT] button to return to the DRUM KIT screen.
Tips
- All three zones (bow, edge, bell) play — the Lemon ride's two outputs map straight onto the RD and CR2 inputs.
- Choke works by grabbing the ride edge.
- If the edge and bell sounds come out swapped, follow the bell and edge section of the ride setup guide.
