9" Dual-Zone Splash on Roland TD-07

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 9" Dual-Zone Splash when used with the Roland TD-07.

Setup — 9" Dual-Zone Splash on Roland TD-07

Works

Yes — the 9" Dual-Zone Splash works as a full 2-zone crash on the Roland TD-07: bow + edge.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → the crash lead on the dedicated connection cable

Dual-zone crash triggering: bow (tip) and edge (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge. The TD-07 supports Roland CY-series 2-zone cymbals.

Cable routing

  1. Plug the included dedicated connection cable's crash lead into the Lemon crash. Its other end goes to the module's single TRIGGER INPUT connector — each lead is labeled for its pad, and the manual's instruction is simply to "connect the appropriately labeled cable to each pad".

Module settings

  1. Press [SETUP], select "PAD" with the cursor buttons, and press [ENTER].
  2. Strike the cymbal to select its input on the "PAD" screen.
  3. Select "Type" with the cursor buttons and use the dial to set it to CY8 or CY5 to match your cymbal.
  4. Fine-tune "Sens" (1-32) and "Threshold" (0-31) so bow and edge track evenly.

Tips

  1. Bow and edge zones respond independently.
  2. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge.
  3. A second crash is the "CR2" lead on the same dedicated connection cable, not a separate jack — the manual's own add-a-cymbal procedure connects CR2 to the added pad (p.21).
9" Dual-Zone Splash also fits 74 other drum modules — see setup
