Works

Yes — the 9" Dual-Zone Splash works as a full 2-zone crash on the Simmons SD1250: bow + edge.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → the CRASH1 lead of the multi-pin cable harness, or the Crash 2 jack on the right side panel

Dual-zone cymbal triggering on both crash inputs — the specifications list the crash as dual zone and the note chart gives CRASH1 and CRASH2 each a bow note and an edge note.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal pad to the CRASH1 lead of the multi-pin cable harness, or to the Crash 2 stereo 1/4" input on the module's right side panel.

Module settings

  1. In Utility mode, press the Function button under Trigger on the Main Utility screen (Utility → Trigger F1).
  2. Select the pad via Follow Trigger (strike it) or Current Trigger, then set Sensitivity (1-32), Threshold, Crosstalk, Retrigger, Curve (1-4).

Tips

  1. Both crash inputs read bow and edge.
  2. The manual documents choke on the crash input — grabbing the edge of the cymbal stops it ringing.
