9" Dual-Zone Splash on Roland TD-50X

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 9" Dual-Zone Splash when used with the Roland TD-50X.

Setup — 9" Dual-Zone Splash on Roland TD-50X

Works

The 9" Dual-Zone Splash is fully supported on your Roland TD-50X.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → CRASH1 or CRASH2 input on the rear panel

Dual-zone crash triggering: bow (tip) and edge (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge. The TD-50X supports Roland CY-series 2-zone cymbals.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal to the CRASH1 or CRASH2 input on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Press [TRIGGER] > [F1] BANK.
  2. Navigate to the CRASH1 or CRASH2 input.
  3. Set the trigger type to CY-12C or CY-14C depending on your cymbal size.

Tips

  1. Bow and edge zones respond independently.
  2. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge.
  3. The DIGITAL TRIGGER IN jacks are for Roland digital pads (CY-18DR) only.
