9" Dual-Zone Splash on Roland TD-6

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 9" Dual-Zone Splash when used with the Roland TD-6.

Setup — 9" Dual-Zone Splash on Roland TD-6

Works

Yes — the 9" Dual-Zone Splash works as a full 2-zone crash on the Roland TD-6: bow + edge.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → CRASH1 input (TRIGGER INPUT 9) or CRASH2 input (TRIGGER INPUT 10) on the rear panel

Dual-zone crash triggering: bow (tip) and edge (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge. The TD-6 supports two 2-zone crash inputs (CRASH1 and CRASH2) plus a separate RIDE input.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal to the CRASH1 or CRASH2 input on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Hold [SHIFT] and press [EDIT (SETUP)] to enter setup mode, then select TRIG BASIC.
  2. Strike the cymbal so the display shows the CR1 or CR2 input.
  3. Set the Trigger Type to CY6 (for CY-6) or CY Type (for CY-12H / CY-14C / CY-15R) depending on your cymbal size.

Tips

  1. Bow and edge zones respond independently.
  2. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge.
9" Dual-Zone Splash also fits 73 other drum modules — see setup
