9" Dual-Zone Splash on Simmons Titan 20

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 9" Dual-Zone Splash when used with the Simmons Titan 20.

Setup — 9" Dual-Zone Splash on Simmons Titan 20

Use as 1-zone crash

Yes — the 9" Dual-Zone Splash works on the Simmons Titan 20 as a 1-zone crash: bow only.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → the "To Crash" branch of the multi-pin cable harness — bow only

Crash input is single-zone per specs (p.6). MIDI chart confirms single note for crash. Connecting a 2-zone cymbal will trigger bow only; edge detection is not supported.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal pad to the branch of the multi-pin cable harness labeled "To Crash".

Module settings

  1. Set the crash input's sensitivity and threshold from the Simmons Titan 20's own trigger menu — see the Simmons Titan 20 manual for the exact steps. Only the bow zone triggers; edge strikes won't sound separately.

Tips

  1. The Titan 20 crash input is single-zone — only the bow zone will trigger. Edge strikes will not produce a separate sound.
  2. The multi-pin cable harness is this module's only trigger connection — the panel list on p.14 has no separate cymbal jack.
9" Dual-Zone Splash also fits 74 other drum modules — see setup
