9" Dual-Zone Splash on ATV aD5

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 9" Dual-Zone Splash when used with the ATV aD5.

Setup — 9" Dual-Zone Splash on ATV aD5

Works

Yes — the 9" Dual-Zone Splash works as a full 2-zone crash on the ATV aD5: bow + edge.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → CR (Crash) plug on the multi-trigger cable, or an AUX 1/2 rear-panel jack for a second crash

Full dual-zone cymbal support with bow and edge; choke supported. The aD5 has no individual panel trigger jacks except AUX 1 and AUX 2 — every pad connects through the included multi-trigger cable's labeled plugs (K, SN, T1–T3, HH, CR, RD, BEL, CTL). A crash lands on the CR plug; a second crash uses an AUX jack, which reads bow + edge.

Cable routing

  1. Connect the cymbal to the CR (Crash) plug on the aD5 multi-trigger cable using a 1/4" TRS cable.
  2. For a second crash, use the AUX 1 or AUX 2 jack on the rear panel — the aD5's only individual trigger jacks — which read bow + edge.

Module settings

  1. Set trigger sensitivity, threshold, and crosstalk for the cymbal input from the ATV aD5's own trigger menu — see the ATV aD5 manual for the exact button sequence and parameter names.

Tips

  1. Bow and edge trigger independently.
  2. Choke is supported via edge grab detection.
9" Dual-Zone Splash also fits 73 other drum modules — see setup
