9" Dual-Zone Splash on Alesis Nitro

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 9" Dual-Zone Splash when used with the Alesis Nitro.

Setup — 9" Dual-Zone Splash on Alesis Nitro

Use as 1-zone crash

Yes — the 9" Dual-Zone Splash works on the Alesis Nitro as a 1-zone crash: bow only.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → Crash 1 connector on the 25-pin cable snake, or 1× TS → Crash 2 jack on the rear panel

The Nitro's crash input is single-zone (bow only) — the MIDI chart maps a single note per crash with no separate edge note. Connecting a 2-zone cymbal triggers the bow zone; edge strikes won't sound separately.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal to the Crash 1 connector on the 25-pin cable snake.
  2. Or connect the cymbal to the Crash 2 jack on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Go to Utility → use Page/Select buttons to navigate: SEN (Sensitivity), THR (Threshold), CUR (Curve).
  2. Select the Crash input and adjust the bow-zone parameters.

Tips

  1. The crash input reads the bow zone only — edge strikes won't produce a separate sound.
  2. CRO (Crosstalk) helps reduce false triggers from nearby pads.
9" Dual-Zone Splash also fits 73 other drum modules — see setup
