13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Simmons SD1250

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride when used with the Simmons SD1250.

Setup — 13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Simmons SD1250

Use as 2-zone ride

Yes — the 13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on the Simmons SD1250 as a 2-zone ride: bow + edge.

Choose your ride zones

Plug: Ride 1

Wiring: The RIDE lead of the multi-pin cable harness → Ride 1 (bow/edge)

Plug the ride lead of the harness into the Lemon ride's Ride 1 output for bow + edge — no cymbal modification. The SD1250 has a single ride connection, so you get two of the ride's three zones.

Module settings

  1. In Utility mode, press the Function button under Trigger on the Main Utility screen (Utility → Trigger F1).
  2. Select the Ride pad via Follow Trigger (strike it) or Current Trigger.
  3. Adjust Sensitivity (1–32), Threshold, Crosstalk, Retrigger, and Curve (1–4) until bow and edge strikes register cleanly.
  4. In your kit, load a ride-bow sample on the bow zone and a ride-edge or crash sample on the second zone.

Tips

  1. This is the out-of-the-box setup — no cymbal modification.

Or set it up as Bow + bell

Plug: Ride 2

Wiring: The RIDE lead of the multi-pin cable harness → Ride 2 (bow/bell, after the rewire)

Prefer the bell to the edge? A one-time, reversible jumper move inside the cymbal (~10 min) puts bow + bell on Ride 2. The SD1250 voices a ride bell — its note chart lists RIDE BOW, RIDE BELL and RIDE EDGE as separate notes.

Rewire guide ›

Cable routing

  1. Rewire the cymbal — move the internal red/black jumper from the Ride 1 input to the Ride 2 input.
  2. Plug the RIDE lead of the multi-pin cable harness into the cymbal's Ride 2 output.
