15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Simmons SD1250

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride when used with the Simmons SD1250.

Setup — 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Simmons SD1250

Use as 2-zone ride

Yes — the 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on the Simmons SD1250 as a 2-zone ride: bow + edge.

Choose your ride zones

Plug: Ride 1

Wiring: 1× TRS: Ride 1 (bow/edge) → RIDE connector on the DB-25 cable harness

Plug the Lemon ride's Ride 1 cable into the RIDE connector for bow + edge — no cymbal modification. The SD1250 has a single ride input, so you get two of the ride's three zones.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a single 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 1 output (bow/edge) to the RIDE connector on the DB-25 cable harness.

Module settings

  1. In Utility mode, press the Function button under Trigger on the Main Utility screen (Utility → Trigger F1).
  2. Select the Ride pad via Follow Trigger (strike it) or Current Trigger.
  3. Adjust Sensitivity (1–32), Threshold, Crosstalk, Retrigger, and Curve (1–4) until bow and edge strikes register cleanly.
  4. In your kit, load a ride-bow sample on the bow zone and a ride-edge or crash sample on the second zone.

Tips

  1. This is the out-of-the-box setup — no cymbal modification.

Or set it up as Bow + bell

Plug: Ride 2

Wiring: 1× TRS: Ride 2 (bow/bell, after the rewire) → RIDE connector on the DB-25 cable harness

Prefer the bell to the edge? A one-time, reversible jumper move inside the cymbal (~10 min) puts bow + bell on the Ride 2 cable.

Cable routing

  1. Rewire the cymbal — move the internal red/black jumper from the Ride 1 input to the Ride 2 input.
  2. Connect a single 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 2 output to this module's RIDE input.
