15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Roland TD-07

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride when used with the Roland TD-07.

Setup — 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Roland TD-07

Works

Yes — the 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works as a full 3-zone ride on the Roland TD-07: bow + bell + edge.

Bell Bow Edge

Wiring: 2× TRS: bow/edge → RD (ride) connector, bow/bell → CR2 (crash 2) connector on the dedicated connection cable — set CR2Usage to RDB

Full 3-zone ride (bow, bell, edge). The TD-07 reads the bow/edge cable on its RD input and the bell on the CR2 input with CR2Usage set to RDB — the same CY-13R hookup the Lemon ride is already wired for. Assigning CR2 to the ride bell occupies the crash-2 input; the manual notes the CR2 pad then cannot be connected.

Cable routing

  1. Connect the ride's Ride 1 output (bow/edge) to the RD connector on the dedicated connection cable.
  2. Connect the ride's Ride 2 output (bow/bell) to the CR2 connector on the dedicated connection cable.

Module settings

  1. Press [SETUP], select "PAD" with the cursor buttons, and press [ENTER].
  2. Strike the ride to select the RD input on the "PAD" screen.
  3. Select "Type" and set it to CY13R with the dial.
  4. Select "CR2Usage" and set it to RDB so the CR2 connector is read as the ride bell.
  5. With CR2 assigned to the ride bell, a separate crash-2 pad can't be connected at the same time.

Tips

  1. All three zones (bow, edge, bell) play — the Lemon ride's two cables map straight onto the RD and CR2 inputs.
  2. Choke works by grabbing the ride edge.
  3. If the edge and bell sounds come out swapped, the two cables are reversed — swap them at the cymbal ends.
15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride also fits 73 other drum modules — see setup
