Use as 1-zone ride

Yes — the 20" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on the Roland TD-1 as a 1-zone ride: bow only.

Bell Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS from the ride cymbal (Ride 2 output) → the ride lead on the dedicated connection cable — bow only

The TD-1 reads one zone from its RIDE connector. Its whole trigger surface is pad sensitivity and pad type — there is no rim or edge parameter and no per-input trigger menu — so the bell and edge cannot be addressed. A Lemon 3-zone ride plays as a bow-only ride.

Cable routing

  1. Plug the included dedicated connection cable's ride lead into the ride cymbal's Ride 2 output. Its other end goes to the module's single TRIGGER INPUT connector — each lead is labeled for its pad, and the manual's instruction is simply to "connect the appropriately labeled cable to each pad".

Module settings

  1. Press the [Select] button to choose Drums mode, then long-press the [Metronome] button so the mode lamp blinks.
  2. Play the ride, then use the [-] [+] buttons to set its sensitivity so bow strikes register evenly.
  3. Press the [Metronome] button to complete the setting.

Tips

  1. The TD-1 plays fixed factory kits — the ride voice comes with the kit and is not assigned per zone.
