15" Dual-Zone China on Roland TD-1

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 15" Dual-Zone China when used with the Roland TD-1.

Setup — 15" Dual-Zone China on Roland TD-1

Works

Yes — the 15" Dual-Zone China works as a full 2-zone crash on the Roland TD-1: bow + edge.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → the crash lead on the dedicated connection cable

Dual-zone crash triggering: bow (tip) and edge (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge. The TD-1 addresses two 2-zone crash triggers, CR1 and CR2, each with its own bow and edge note.

Cable routing

  1. Plug the included dedicated connection cable's crash lead into the Lemon crash. Its other end goes to the module's single TRIGGER INPUT connector — each lead is labeled for its pad, and the manual's instruction is simply to "connect the appropriately labeled cable to each pad".

Module settings

  1. Press the [Select] button to select Drums mode, then long-press the [Metronome] button so the mode lamp blinks (Making Detailed Settings).
  2. Press the [Select] button to blink the Drums mode lamp (Adjust the Pad Sensitivity).
  3. Play the cymbal, then use the [-] [+] buttons to adjust its sensitivity.
  4. Press the [Metronome] button to complete the setting.

Tips

  1. Bow and edge zones respond independently.
  2. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge.
15" Dual-Zone China also fits 74 other drum modules — see setup
