Works

The 13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride is fully supported on your ATV aD5.

Bell Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → Ride input + 1× TRS → Aux1 or Aux2 input (1/4" TRS jacks)

The aD5 supports 3-zone ride using Ride input for bow/edge and an Aux input for bell. Manual documents using two cables.

Cable routing

  1. Connect the ride cymbal bow/edge cable to the Ride input.
  2. Connect the ride cymbal bell cable to the Aux1 or Aux2 input.
  3. Two separate 1/4" TRS cables are required for full 3-zone operation.

Module settings

  1. MENU > TRIGGER > select Ride input > set Type for 3-zone ride cymbal.
  2. MENU > TRIGGER > select Aux input > configure as ride bell.
  3. Adjust Sensitivity, Threshold, Crosstalk, Retrigger, Curve, Scan Time, Mask Time as needed.

Tips

  1. The aD5 manual explicitly documents using two cables for 3-zone ride operation.
  2. Compatible with Roland VH-series and similar 3-zone ride cymbals.
