Wiring: 2× TRS: bow/edge → RD plug, bow/bell → BEL plug on the included multi-trigger cable
Full 3-zone ride (bow, bell, edge). The aD5's RIDE trigger input reads bow, edge, and cup over two pad cables — the RD plug carries bow (tip) + edge (ring) and the BEL plug carries the bell. The Lemon ride's two outputs map straight across.
Cable routing
- Connect the ride's Ride 1 output (bow/edge) to the RD plug on the multi-trigger cable.
- Connect the ride's Ride 2 output (bow/bell) to the BEL plug on the multi-trigger cable.
Module settings
- In the home screen open the menu, select the [SYSTEM] tab and press [TRIGGER] (p.32).
- The aD5 sets a pad up by manufacturer and model, and ATV's Pad Compatibility List covers ATV, Yamaha, Roland, ddrum and 2BOX — so pick the closest listed pad (p.32).
- Either set [Pad Brand] and [Model] on the MODEL page and press [OK] (p.32), or run [Trigger Setup Wizard], which asks for the same brand and model and then has you play your own softest and strongest strokes on the ride (pp.33–34). The wizard is the better route here, because it measures the pad you actually have.
- On the ADJUST page set Sensitivity so the shot meter reads ff on your hardest bow stroke, and Curve so a medium stroke reads mf (p.36).
- On the FINE ADJUST page set Zone B Sens for the edge and Zone C Sens for the bell, so both sit right against the bow (p.37).
Tips
- Both plugs are required for the bell — the AUX inputs read only two zones and can't host it.
- Choke works by grabbing the ride edge.
- If the edge and bell sounds come out swapped, the two cables are reversed — swap them at the cymbal ends.
