Setup details by role
Snare pad 2-zone 1× TRS → SNARE input (1/4" TRS jack)
The snare input supports dual-zone (head + rim) triggering via center piezo and rim switch.
Tom pad 1-zone 1× TRS per tom → TOM1, TOM2, TOM3 inputs (1/4" TRS jacks)
The aD5's TOM1, TOM2, and TOM3 inputs are single-zone — only the head piezo is read. Rim hits on a dual-zone tom pad will not produce a separate sound.
Kick pad Works 1× TS or TRS → KICK input (1/4" TRS jack)
Single-zone kick trigger. Only the head zone is active.
2-zone crash 2-zone 1× TRS → CR (Crash) plug on the multi-trigger cable, or an AUX 1/2 rear-panel jack for a second crash
Full dual-zone cymbal support with bow and edge; choke supported. The aD5 has no individual panel trigger jacks except AUX 1 and AUX 2 — every pad connects through the included multi-trigger cable's labeled plugs (K, SN, T1–T3, HH, CR, RD, BEL, CTL). A crash lands on the CR plug; a second crash uses an AUX jack, which reads bow + edge.
3-zone ride 3-zone 2× TRS: bow/edge → RD plug, bow/bell → BEL plug on the included multi-trigger cable
Full 3-zone ride (bow, bell, edge). The aD5's RIDE trigger input reads bow, edge, and cup over two pad cables — the RD plug carries bow (tip) + edge (ring) and the BEL plug carries the bell. The Lemon ride's two outputs map straight across.
Hi-hat Continuous 1× TRS pad → HH plug + 1× TRS pedal → CTL plug on the included multi-trigger cable
Full continuous hi-hat control. The aD5 has a dedicated hi-hat-control-pedal input on its multi-trigger breakout — the pad goes to the HH plug and the controller to the CTL plug (p.30). A third-party hi-hat pedal selector ([Pad Brand]/[Model], p.32) plus open/close calibration ([Set Close]/[Set Open], p.35 — [Set Open] appears only for a non-ATV hi-hat) let the Lemon bottom-plate controller read open, half-open and closed.
