15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Alesis Nitro

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride when used with the Alesis Nitro.

Setup — 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Alesis Nitro

Use as 1-zone ride

Yes — the 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on the Alesis Nitro as a 1-zone ride: bow only.

Bell Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS from the ride cymbal (Ride 2 output) → RIDE connector on the 25-pin cable snake — bow only

The Nitro has a single, single-zone RIDE input — one trigger (MIDI note 51 = bow). A Lemon 3-zone ride plays as a bow-only ride; bell and edge won't register, and there is no pad-type menu to make the ride multi-zone.

Cable routing

  1. Connect one 1/4" TRS cable from the ride cymbal's Ride 2 output to this module's RIDE input.

Module settings

  1. Go to Utility and use Page/Select to navigate to the RIDE input trigger page.
  2. Adjust SEN (Sensitivity), THR (Threshold), and CUR (Curve) so bow strikes register cleanly and evenly across the pad.
  3. Load a ride voice whose bow sample stands on its own — every ride strike plays that single sound.

Tips

  1. The RIDE input triggers one note (51), so bell and edge hits sound the same as the bow.
  2. The Nitro family exposes no 2- or 3-zone cymbal pad type — a pad's zone count is fixed and only its sound is user-assignable.
15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride also fits 73 other drum modules — see setup
