Setup details by role

Snare pad 2-zone Snare connector on the 25-pin cable snake → snare pad

The Snare connector on the cable snake supports dual-zone (head + rim) triggering via the center piezo and the rim piezo.

Tom pad 2-zone Tom1, Tom2, Tom3 connectors on the 25-pin cable snake → one per tom pad

The tom connectors on the cable snake support dual-zone (head + rim) triggering via the center piezo and the rim piezo.

Kick pad Works Kick connector on the 25-pin cable snake → kick pad

Single-zone kick trigger via the cable snake. Only the head zone is active.

2-zone crash 1-zone Crash 1 connector on the 25-pin cable snake → cymbal, or 1× TS → Crash 2 jack on the rear panel

The Nitro's crash input is single-zone (bow only) — the MIDI chart maps a single note per crash with no separate edge note. Connecting a 2-zone cymbal triggers the bow zone; edge strikes won't sound separately.

3-zone ride 1-zone RIDE connector on the 25-pin cable snake → Ride 1 — bow only

The Nitro has a single, single-zone RIDE input — one trigger (MIDI note 51 = bow). A Lemon 3-zone ride plays as a bow-only ride; bell and edge won't register, and there is no pad-type menu to make the ride multi-zone.

Hi-hat Open/Closed Hi-Hat connector → hi-hat pad + hi-hat pedal lead → hi-hat controller, both on the 25-pin cable snake

The HH Pedal input is not documented as Roland VH/FD compatible, and there is no pedal curve or half-open voice — treat as open/closed.
