15" Dual-Zone China on Alesis Nitro

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 15" Dual-Zone China when used with the Alesis Nitro.

Setup — 15" Dual-Zone China on Alesis Nitro

Use as 1-zone crash

Yes — the 15" Dual-Zone China works on the Alesis Nitro as a 1-zone crash: bow only.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → Crash 1 connector on the 25-pin cable snake, or 1× TS → Crash 2 jack on the rear panel

The Nitro's crash input is single-zone (bow only) — the MIDI chart maps a single note per crash with no separate edge note. Connecting a 2-zone cymbal triggers the bow zone; edge strikes won't sound separately.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal to the Crash 1 connector on the 25-pin cable snake.
  2. Or connect the cymbal to the Crash 2 jack on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Hit the crash pad, or press its Pad Select button, so the module selects that input.
  2. Press Utility, then press Page/Select until the setting you want appears: SEN (Pad sensitivity), THR (Pad threshold), CRO (Pad crosstalk), or CUR (Pad velocity curve).
  3. Set the value with the < and > buttons.
  4. Press Save to keep the settings — otherwise they return to defaults when you power the module off.

Tips

  1. The crash input reads the bow zone only — edge strikes won't produce a separate sound.
  2. CRO (Crosstalk) helps reduce false triggers from nearby pads.
15" Dual-Zone China also fits 74 other drum modules — see setup
