15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Simmons SD2000

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride when used with the Simmons SD2000.

Setup — 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Simmons SD2000

Use as 2-zone ride

Yes — the 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on the Simmons SD2000 as a 2-zone ride: bow + edge.

Choose your ride zones

Plug: Ride 1

Wiring: 1× TRS: Ride 1 (bow/edge) → RIDE lead on the multi-pin pad harness

Plug the Lemon ride's Ride 1 cable into the Ride input for bow + edge — no cymbal modification. The SD2000 has a single ride input, so you get two of the ride's three zones.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a single 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 1 output (bow/edge) to the RIDE lead on the module's multi-pin pad harness (the harness plugs into the Serial Connection Jack on the bottom of the module).

Module settings

  1. Press [Utility], then the Function soft-key under "Trigger" on the Main Utility screen.
  2. Select the Ride input (Follow Trigger — strike it — or Current Trigger).
  3. Adjust Sensitivity, Threshold, Curve, Retrigger, Crosstalk, Splash Sensitivity until bow and edge strikes register cleanly.
  4. In your kit, load a ride-bow sample on the bow zone and a ride-edge or crash sample on the second zone.

Tips

  1. This is the out-of-the-box setup — no cymbal modification.

Or set it up as Bow + bell

Plug: Ride 2

Wiring: 1× TRS: Ride 2 (bow/bell, after the rewire) → RIDE lead on the multi-pin pad harness

Prefer the bell to the edge? A one-time, reversible jumper move inside the cymbal (~10 min) puts bow + bell on the Ride 2 cable.

Cable routing

  1. Rewire the cymbal — move the internal red/black jumper from the Ride 1 input to the Ride 2 input.
  2. Connect a single 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 2 output to the RIDE lead on this module's multi-pin pad harness.
