Use as 2-zone ride

Yes — the 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on the Donner DED-400 as a 2-zone ride: bow + edge.

Bell Bow Edge

Plug: Ride 1

Wiring: 1× TRS: Ride 1 (bow/edge) → RIDE lead on the signal-connection harness

Plug the Lemon ride's Ride 1 cable into the Ride input for bow + edge — no cymbal modification. The DED-400 has no ride-bell voice, so bow + edge is the full 2-zone ride it can drive.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a single 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 1 output (bow/edge) to the RIDE lead on the module's signal-connection harness (the harness plugs into the module's TRIGGER INPUT port via its multi-pin parallel-port connector).

Module settings

  1. Press the MENU button, use +/- to select 2-PAD SET, and press OK to enter the pad parameter interface.
  2. Tap the ride pad to select it, then press + / - to choose a parameter and turn the encoder to set the value (press OK to confirm).
  3. Set Pad Sen (bow/surface sensitivity, 1-6), Rim Sen (edge sensitivity), Threshold (trigger threshold, 1-32), Xtalk (crosstalk threshold, 1-32), and Volume (0-127) so bow and edge hits register cleanly.
  4. Press SAVE to store the settings.

Tips

  1. This is the out-of-the-box setup — no cymbal modification.
  2. The DED-400's note tables list no ride-bell voice, so bow + edge is the full 2-zone ride this module can drive.
