15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Efnote 7

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride when used with the Efnote 7.

Setup — 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Efnote 7

Works

Yes — the 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works as a full 3-zone ride on the Efnote 7: bow + bell + edge.

Bell Bow Edge

Wiring: 2× TRS: Ride 1 (bow/edge) → the RIDE lead, Ride 2 (bow/bell) → the RIDE CUP lead on the MULTI-A breakout cable

Full 3-zone ride (bow, edge, cup) with no cymbal modification. The EFNOTE 7's ride is a two-cable input: the RIDE lead reads bow (tip) + edge (ring), and the separate RIDE CUP lead reads the cup — the Specifications' Trigger Interface table gives the Ride column a Cup zone footnoted *"Uses the Ride Cup cable"* (RG p.28). The Lemon ride's Ride 2 cable supplies it: its bell sensor drives the module's cup zone, which is the same two-cable arrangement the ATV EXS-3 uses.

Cable routing

  1. Connect the ride's Ride 1 output (bow/edge) to the RIDE lead on the MULTI-A breakout cable.
  2. Connect the ride's Ride 2 output (bow/bell) to the RIDE CUP lead on the MULTI-A breakout cable — its bell sensor is what the module reads as the cup zone.

Module settings

  1. Assign a ride-bow tone to Zone A, a ride-edge tone to Zone B and a ride-cup tone to Zone C via ZONE EDIT > TONE — the module maps a cymbal's Cup to Zone C (RG p.11).
  2. Adjust Sens and the pad threshold for the bow, then use Sens B for the edge and Sens C for the cup (RG p.22).

Tips

  1. The three-zone ride needs both cables — connect RIDE and RIDE CUP, or your ride's bell will not sound. The module calls that zone the **cup**: your cymbal's bell sensor is what fires it, so a "bow + bell + edge" ride reads here as bow + edge + cup.
  2. If the edge and cup sounds come out swapped, the two cables are reversed — swap them at the cymbal ends.
15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride also fits 74 other drum modules — see setup
