15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Donner DED-300X

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride when used with the Donner DED-300X.

Setup — 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Donner DED-300X

Use as 2-zone ride

Yes — the 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on the Donner DED-300X as a 2-zone ride: bow + edge.

Choose your ride zones

Plug: Ride 1

Wiring: 1× TRS: Ride 1 (bow/edge) → RIDE lead on the signal-connection harness

Plug the Lemon ride's Ride 1 cable into the Ride input for bow + edge — no cymbal modification. The DED-300X has a single Ride input, so two of the Lemon ride's zones reach the module.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a single 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 1 output (bow/edge) to the RIDE lead on the module's signal-connection harness (the harness plugs into the module via its multi-pin parallel-port connector).

Module settings

  1. MENU > SENSITIVITY > select RD (the ride) > set SEN (drum sensitivity, 01-06), THREH. (trigger threshold, 01-32), XTALK (crosstalk threshold, 01-32), RETR. (repeat trigger, 01-32), and VOL (volume, 00-127) — SEN sets the sensitivity of the whole pad, bow and edge together.
  2. Assign the sounds per zone in MENU > PAD SET — a ride-bow voice on the bow, a ride-edge or crash voice on the second zone.
  3. Press SAVE to store the settings to the current PRESET.

Tips

  1. This is the out-of-the-box setup — no cymbal modification.

Or set it up as Bow + bell

Plug: Ride 2

Wiring: 1× TRS: Ride 2 (bow/bell, after the rewire) → RIDE lead on the signal-connection harness

After the one-time cymbal rewire the Ride 2 cable carries bow + bell into the single Ride input.

Cable routing

  1. Rewire the cymbal — move the internal red/black jumper from the Ride 1 input to the Ride 2 input.
  2. Connect a single 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 2 output to the RIDE lead on this module's signal-connection harness.
