15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Roland SPD-SX PRO

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride when used with the Roland SPD-SX PRO.

Setup — 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Roland SPD-SX PRO

Use as 2-zone ride

Yes — the 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on the Roland SPD-SX PRO as a 2-zone ride: bow + edge.

Bell Bow Edge

Plug: Ride 1

Wiring: 1× TRS: Ride 1 (bow/edge) → a TRIGGER IN jack set to HEAD&RIM

Plug the Lemon ride's Ride 1 cable into a TRIGGER IN jack for bow + edge — no cymbal modification. The SPD-SX PRO's trigger inputs are 2-zone (head + rim), so the ride drives two of its three zones here.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a single 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 1 output (bow/edge) to a TRIGGER IN jack.

Module settings

  1. Press [MENU] > SYSTEM > PAD/TRIG IN, then [F1] (PARAM), play the ride to select its trigger input, and set Input Mode to HEAD&RIM.
  2. Set Trig Type to a 2-zone ride/crash profile such as CY-13R.
  3. In KIT EDIT1, assign a ride-bow wave to the head and a ride-edge or crash wave to the rim.

Tips

  1. This is the out-of-the-box setup — no cymbal modification.
15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride also fits 74 other drum modules — see setup
