15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Alesis Strata Prime

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride when used with the Alesis Strata Prime.

Setup — 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Alesis Strata Prime

Works

Yes — the 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works as a full 3-zone ride on the Alesis Strata Prime: bow + bell + edge.

Bell Bow Edge

Wiring: 2× TRS → RIDE trigger input + a CYMBAL trigger input

Full 3-zone ride (bow, bell, edge). The Lemon 3-zone ride is dual-output, so bow/edge read on the dedicated Ride input and the bell reads on a spare Cymbal input — with both connected, all three zones play with edge choke.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 1 output (bow/edge) to the RIDE trigger input on the rear panel.
  2. Connect a second 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 2 output (bow/bell) to a free CYMBAL trigger input.

Module settings

  1. Press the Kit button and tap Trigger to open Trigger mode; tap Hit Select and strike the ride bow to select the R (Ride) input, then load a matching Trigger Preset.
  2. Use Hit Select to select the Cymbal (C1-C4) input carrying the bell, load its preset, and assign a ride-bell instrument to that input in Kit Edit so bell hits play a bell.
  3. In Tweaks, set Bow Sensitivity (1.0-32.0), Edge Sensitivity (1.0-32.0), and Threshold (1-127) independently on each input.
  4. In Advanced, set Choke Time (1-200 ms) for the edge mute; if Edge and Bell feel swapped on either input, toggle Invert Bell & Edge (Off/On) there.
  5. If the ride zones interfere with each other, run Learn XTalk on the input that is causing the crosstalk.

Tips

  1. Grabbing the edge chokes the ride; the bell plays through the Cymbal input.
  2. If Edge and Bell feel swapped on either input, toggle Invert Bell & Edge there.
  3. If the bell is inconsistent, raise its Sensitivity and lower its Threshold.
  4. If the ride zones interfere with each other, run Learn XTalk on the input that is causing the crosstalk.
  5. If bow strikes also sound a second voice through the Cymbal input carrying the bell, silence that input's bow zone instrument.
15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride also fits 74 other drum modules — see setup
