15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on NUX DM-8
Setup — 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on NUX DM-8
Use as 2-zone rideYes — the 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on the NUX DM-8 as a 2-zone ride: bow + edge.
Choose your ride zones
Plug: Ride 1
Wiring: 1× TRS: Ride 1 (bow/edge) → RIDE branch on the multi-pin trigger snake
Plug the Lemon ride's Ride 1 cable into the RIDE branch for bow + edge — no cymbal modification. The ride's second zone is assignable, so give it a ride-edge or crash voice.
Cable routing
- Connect the ride's Ride 1 output (bow/edge) to the RIDE branch of the trigger snake.
Module settings
- Press MENU > TRIGGER and hit the ride to select it.
- Tune SENSITIVITY / THRESHOLD for the bow and RIM GAIN for the ring (edge) zone.
- If edge hits sound the wrong voice, reassign the ride notes under MENU > MIDI NOTE.
Tips
- This is the out-of-the-box setup — no cymbal modification.
Or set it up as Bow + bell
Plug: Ride 2
Wiring: 1× TRS: Ride 2 (bow/bell, after the rewire) → RIDE branch on the multi-pin trigger snake
After a one-time, reversible jumper move inside the cymbal (~10 min) the Ride 2 cable carries bow + bell into the single RIDE branch.
Rewire guide ›Cable routing
- Rewire the cymbal — move the internal red/black jumper from the Ride 1 input to the Ride 2 input.
- Connect a single 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 2 output to the RIDE branch of the trigger snake.
Module settings
- Press MENU > TRIGGER and hit the ride to select it.
- Tune SENSITIVITY / THRESHOLD for the bow and RIM GAIN for the ring (bell) zone.
- If bell hits sound the wrong voice, reassign the ride notes under MENU > MIDI NOTE — bow and bell play through the single connected cable.
