15" Dual-Zone China on Roland TD-25

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 15" Dual-Zone China when used with the Roland TD-25.

Setup — 15" Dual-Zone China on Roland TD-25

Works

Yes — the 15" Dual-Zone China works as a full 2-zone crash on the Roland TD-25: bow + edge.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → CRASH1 connector on the DB-25 cable snake, or CRASH2 / AUX direct jack on the rear panel

Dual-zone crash triggering: bow (tip) and edge (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge. The TD-25 supports Roland CY-series 2-zone cymbals.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a ¼″ TRS cable from the cymbal to the CRASH1 connector on the DB-25 cable snake.
  2. For additional cymbals, connect to the CRASH2 or AUX input on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. In the KIT screen, press [F3] (MENU), then [F3] (SETUP) to open the SETUP screen.
  2. Select "Trigger Settings" to open the TRIGGER SETTINGS screen, then strike the cymbal to select it.
  3. Use the [INSTRUMENT] knob to set the Pad type to the model that matches your cymbal.
  4. Use the [F2]/[F3] buttons to select "Sensitivity" and turn the [INSTRUMENT] knob to adjust it.

Tips

  1. Bow and edge zones respond independently.
  2. Choke works by grabbing the cymbal edge.
  3. CRASH2 and AUX are direct jacks on the rear panel, not part of the cable snake.
15" Dual-Zone China also fits 73 other drum modules — see setup
