Use as 2-zone ride

Yes — the 13" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on the Roland TD-6 as a 2-zone ride: bow + edge.

Choose your ride zones

Plug: Ride 1

Wiring: 1× TRS: Ride 1 (bow/edge) → RIDE input (input 11/RIDE) on the rear panel

Plug the Lemon ride's Ride 1 cable into the RIDE input for bow + edge — no cymbal modification. The TD-6 ships the ride's second zone as a bell voice, so assign a ride-edge or crash sound to it if you want an edge.

Cable routing

  1. Connect the ride's Ride 1 output (bow/edge) to the RIDE input (input 11/RIDE) on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Hold [SHIFT] and press [EDIT (SETUP)], select TRIG BASIC, then strike the ride so the display shows the RD input.
  2. Set the Trigger Type to CY Type (the TD-6's setting for CY-12H / CY-14C / CY-15R cymbals) — it reads the pad as 2-zone (bow + edge).
  3. The second zone ships assigned to a ride-bell voice; assign a ride-edge or crash instrument to it for a matching edge sound.
  4. Tune Sensitivity, Threshold, and Crosstalk until bow and edge strikes read cleanly.

Tips

  1. This is the out-of-the-box setup — no cymbal modification.

Wiring: 1× TRS: Ride 2 (bow/bell, after the rewire) → RIDE input (input 11/RIDE)

After the one-time cymbal rewire the Ride 2 cable carries bow + bell. The TD-6's second zone already ships as a ride-bell voice ("Pop Rdb"), so bell hits play a bell with no sound change.

  1. Rewire the cymbal — move the internal jumper from Ride 1 to Ride 2 (see the rewire guide).
  2. Connect the ride's Ride 2 output to the RIDE input (input 11/RIDE) on the rear panel.

  1. Set the RD input's Trigger Type to CY Type as above.
  2. The second zone ships assigned to a ride-bell voice, so bell hits already play a bell — no reassignment needed.
  3. Tune Sensitivity and Threshold until bow and bell strikes read cleanly.
