15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Alesis Strata Core

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride when used with the Alesis Strata Core.

Setup — 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride on Alesis Strata Core

Works

The 15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride is fully supported on your Alesis Strata Core.

Bow Edge

Wiring: 1× TRS → C1/C2 on the snake, or C3 on the Cymbal 3 direct jack

Each Cymbal slot reads bow + edge with choke support, tuned with Bow Sensitivity, Edge Sensitivity, and Threshold. C1–C2 land on the trigger snake; C3 is a dedicated 1/4" TRS jack on the rear panel.

Cable routing

  1. Connect the cymbal's 1/4" TRS lead to its C1 or C2 trigger on the snake.
  2. For a third crash, connect to the Cymbal 3 (C3) direct 1/4" TRS jack on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Press the Kit button, then tap Trigger to open Trigger Mode.
  2. Tap Hit Select and strike the cymbal to select its slot (C1–C3).
  3. Load a crash preset, then open Tweaks to set Bow Sensitivity, Edge Sensitivity, and Threshold.

Tips

  1. Bow plays from the main surface; edge triggers from the edge sensor, and grabbing the edge chokes the cymbal.
  2. If chokes are too easy or too slow, open Advanced and adjust Choke Time (1–200 ms).
  3. If a third-party cymbal swaps bell and edge, toggle Invert Bell & Edge in Advanced.
15" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride also fits 70 other drum modules — see setup
