Use as 2-zone ride

Yes — the 18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on the Alesis Strata Core as a 2-zone ride: bow + edge.

Choose your ride zones

Plug: Ride 1

Wiring: R (Ride) on the cable snake → Ride 1 (bow/edge)

Plug into the Lemon ride's Ride 1 output for bow + edge — no cymbal modification.

  1. Plug the R (Ride) trigger on the cable snake into the ride's Ride 1 output (bow/edge).

Module settings

  1. Press the Kit button, then tap Trigger to open Trigger Mode.
  2. Tap Hit Select and strike the ride bow to select the R slot, then load the matching ride trigger preset and open Tweaks to set Bow Sensitivity, Edge Sensitivity, and Threshold.
  3. If edge hits play a bell sound, toggle Invert Bell & Edge in Advanced.

Tips

  1. This is the out-of-the-box setup — no cymbal modification.
  2. Grabbing the edge chokes the ride.
  3. If late cymbal swing causes false triggers, raise Edge Decay Boost (0–100) in Advanced.

Or set it up as Bow + bell

Plug: Ride 2

Wiring: R (Ride) on the cable snake → Ride 2 (bow/bell, after the rewire)

After the one-time, reversible jumper move inside the cymbal (~10 min), Ride 2 carries bow + bell.

  1. Rewire the cymbal — move the internal red/black jumper from the Ride 1 input to the Ride 2 input.
  2. Plug the R (Ride) trigger on the cable snake into the cymbal's Ride 2 output.

  1. Press the Kit button, then tap Trigger to open Trigger Mode.
  2. Tap Hit Select and strike the ride bow to select the R slot, then load the matching ride trigger preset and open Tweaks to set Bow Sensitivity and Threshold.
