Yes — the 18" Triple-Zone Crash/Ride works on the Alesis Strata Prime as a 2-zone ride: bow + edge.

Choose your ride zones

Plug: Ride 1

Wiring: 1× TRS → RIDE trigger input → Ride 1 (bow/edge)

Plug into the Lemon ride's Ride 1 output for bow + edge — no cymbal modification.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 1 output (bow/edge) to the RIDE trigger input on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Press the Kit button and tap Trigger to open Trigger mode; tap Hit Select and strike the ride bow to select the R (Ride) input, then load a matching Trigger Preset.
  2. In Tweaks, set Bow Sensitivity (1.0-32.0), Edge Sensitivity (1.0-32.0), and Threshold (1-127).
  3. In Advanced, set Choke Time (1-200 ms) for the edge mute; if edge hits play a bell sound, toggle Invert Bell & Edge (Off/On) there.

Tips

  1. This is the out-of-the-box setup — no cymbal modification.
  2. Grabbing the edge chokes the ride.

Or set it up as Bow + bell

Plug: Ride 2

Wiring: 1× TRS → RIDE trigger input → Ride 2 (bow/bell, after the rewire)

After the one-time, reversible jumper move inside the cymbal (~10 min), Ride 2 carries bow + bell.

  1. Rewire the cymbal — move the internal red/black jumper from the Ride 1 input to the Ride 2 input.
  2. Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from the cymbal's Ride 2 output to the RIDE trigger input on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Press the Kit button and tap Trigger to open Trigger mode; tap Hit Select and strike the ride bow to select the R (Ride) input, then load a matching Trigger Preset.
  2. In Tweaks, set Bow Sensitivity (1.0-32.0) and Threshold (1-127).
  3. If bell hits play an edge sound, toggle Invert Bell & Edge (Off/On) in Advanced.
