Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 8" High Tom when used with the Simmons SD1200.

Yes — the T550 8" High Tom works as a full tom on the Simmons SD1200: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS per tom → TOM1, TOM2, TOM3 connectors on the DB-25 cable harness

The tom inputs on the cable harness support dual-zone (head + rim) triggering via center piezo and rim switch.

Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from each tom pad to the TOM1, TOM2, or TOM3 connector on the DB-25 cable harness.

Go to Utility > Trigger and select the Tom pad, then adjust Sensitivity, Threshold, Curve, Retrigger, and Crosstalk.

Head triggers from the center piezo, rim triggers from the rim switch.
Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
