Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 8" High Tom when used with the Alesis Nitro Ultimate.

Yes — the T550 8" High Tom works as a full tom on the Alesis Nitro Ultimate: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS per tom → Tom1, Tom2, Tom3 connectors on the cable snake

The tom connectors on the cable snake support dual-zone (head + rim) triggering via center piezo and rim switch.

Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from each tom pad to the Tom1, Tom2, or Tom3 connector on the cable snake.

Press the Mode button until Normal Mode (Kit, Voice, Song) is active.
Hit the tom pad you want to adjust so the module selects that input.
Press the Utility button repeatedly until SEN (Pad sensitivity) appears, then set it with the - and + buttons.
Press Utility until THR (Pad threshold) appears, then set it with the - and + buttons.
Press Utility until R-S (Pad rim sensitivity) appears, then set the rim response with the - and + buttons.
Press Save to keep the settings — otherwise they return to defaults when you power the module off.

Head triggers from the center piezo, rim triggers from the rim switch.
Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
