T550 8" High Tom on Donner DED-200X

Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 8" High Tom when used with the Donner DED-200X.

Setup — T550 8" High Tom on Donner DED-200X

Use as 1-zone tom

Yes — the T550 8" High Tom works on the Donner DED-200X as a 1-zone tom: head only.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS per tom → Tom1, Tom2, Tom3 connectors on the cable harness

The DED-200X tom inputs are single-zone (same as DED-200). Only the head zone will trigger; rim hits will not produce a separate sound.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from each tom pad to the Tom1, Tom2, or Tom3 connector on the cable harness.
  2. Tom 4 may be available as a direct jack on the rear panel for an additional tom.

Module settings

  1. In DRUM KIT mode, press MENU, use the encoder or UP/DOWN to select SENSITIVITY, then press ENTER.
  2. Press UP/DOWN to pick a parameter, tap the tom pad to select it (shown as TO1, TO2, or TO3), and turn the encoder to set the value.
  3. Set SEN (drum sensitivity, 01-06) so your normal stroke registers at full volume.
  4. Set THREH. (trigger threshold, 01-32) so light knocks don't trigger the pad.
  5. Raise XTALK (crosstalk threshold, 01-32) if a neighbouring pad false-triggers this one, and RETR. (repeat trigger, 01-32) if you get double triggers.
  6. Set VOL (volume, 00-127) to balance the pad against the rest of the kit.
  7. Press SAVE to store the settings.

Tips

  1. Only the head (center piezo) triggers — the rim switch on the pad is ignored by this module.
  2. A TS cable also works since only the tip signal is read.
T550 8" High Tom also fits 73 other drum modules — see setup
