Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 8" High Tom when used with the Roland TD-27.

Yes — the T550 8" High Tom works as a full tom on the Roland TD-27: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS per tom → TOM1, TOM2, TOM3 connectors on the DB-25 cable snake

Dual-zone tom triggering: head (tip) and rim (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection per tom input.

Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from each tom pad to the TOM1, TOM2, or TOM3 connector on the DB-25 cable snake.
Additional tom inputs may be available as direct jacks on the rear panel.

Press [SYSTEM], select "TRIGGER" and press [ENTER], then select "BANK" and press [ENTER] to open the TRIGGER BANK screen.
Strike a tom (display shows "T1"-"T3") or use the cursor buttons to select the TOM1, TOM2, or TOM3 input.
Use the dial to set the Trig Type to the model that matches your tom pad.
Back on the TRIGGER MENU, open "PARAM", select the tom, then set Sensitivity from the cursor + dial.

Head triggers from the center piezo, rim triggers from the rim switch.
Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
