Setup — T550 8" High Tom on Roland TD-27

Works

The T550 8" High Tom is fully supported on your Roland TD-27.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS per tom → TOM1, TOM2, TOM3 connectors on the DB-25 cable snake

Dual-zone tom triggering: head (tip) and rim (ring) respond independently via the single TRS connection per tom input.

Cable routing

  1. Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from each tom pad to the TOM1, TOM2, or TOM3 connector on the DB-25 cable snake.
  2. Additional tom inputs may be available as direct jacks on the rear panel.

Module settings

  1. Press [SETUP] > Pad Settings > Trig Type.
  2. Navigate to the TOM1, TOM2, or TOM3 input.
  3. Set the trigger type to PD-85 or PD-105 depending on your pad size.

Tips

  1. Head triggers from the center piezo, rim triggers from the rim switch.
  2. Both zones respond independently on the TRS connection (tip = head, ring = rim).
