Wiring, module settings, and tips for the T550 8" High Tom when used with the Donner DED-300X.

Yes — the T550 8" High Tom works as a full tom on the Donner DED-300X: head + rim.

Head Rim

Wiring: 1× TRS per tom → TOM1/TOM2/TOM3 leads on the signal-connection harness; Tom 4 → TOM4 jack on the rear panel (1/4" TRS)

All four tom channels are dual-zone — head and rim both trigger as separate MIDI notes. Toms 1-3 connect through the signal-connection harness; Tom 4 uses the dedicated TOM4 expansion jack on the rear panel.

Cable routing

Connect a 1/4" TRS cable from each tom pad to the TOM1, TOM2, or TOM3 lead on the module's signal-connection harness (the harness plugs into the module via its multi-pin parallel-port connector).
A fourth tom uses the discrete TOM4 1/4" jack on the module's rear jack panel.

Module settings

MENU > SENSITIVITY > select T01, T02, or T03 > PS (head), RS (rim), THREH, XTALK, RETRIGER, VOLUME.

Tips

Tom MIDI notes (head / rim): Tom 1 = 48/87, Tom 2 = 45/88, Tom 3 = 43/89, Tom 4 = 41/90.
The SENSITIVITY menu lists T01-T03 — the TOM4 expansion channel uses fixed trigger settings.
